HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Several local representatives spoke at the annual Second Amendment Rally in Harrisburg Monday.

“We want to make this country a better place, we want to serve, in short, we’re the good guys, and we want to make sure that we stand up for the rights of the good guys and that’s what all of you are here to do today,” Representative Matt Gabler told the crowd.

Gun owners erupted into cheers and applause after State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe announced he is asking fellow lawmakers to support his proposal to impeach Pittsburgh’s mayor over the city’s gun regulations, which were created after the deadly Tree of Life Synagogue massacre.

“I want to ask all of you, as you go around to your representatives, remind them that article one, section 21 says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be questioned,” said attorney Joshua Prince.

A spokesman for the House Republicans say that caucus leaders are not interested in impeaching Pittsburgh’s mayor, saying the city’s voters decide their mayor, not the legislature.
