HUNTINGDON, PA (WTAJ) – At least 50 crews responded to a major fire at a commercial building in Huntingdon early Tuesday morning. The first call, which went out around midnight, reported that a 3-story building on the 600 block of Penn Street was on fire.
Due to fire and water damage, the building has been declared a total loss.
The fire spread and threatened multiple buildings in the area. Among them was an apartment complex home to dozens of people. Those individuals were evacuated and we’re told no one was injured. It’s been reported that 59 people have been displaced, Huntingdon County’s emergency management agency is working to help.
It is not known what caused the blaze.
