A Blair County couple is now officially charged in a string of armed robberies and endangering their 4-year-old child.
From September 17 to October 11, police say Michael Rupert robbed five stores in Blair County, a bank, and two businesses in Cambria County. He and his accomplice, Carli Aungst, got away with more than $6,000.
Investigators said the night police caught up with them was the same night Aungst came clean, admitting her involvement in the crimes. She also told officers Rupert got a high from robbing places and wasn’t afraid of getting caught.
The two are now facing a long list of charges including endangering the welfare of a child.
Police revealed the couple’s 4-year-old son was with them during one of the robberies. They also said the couple shot up heroin with the boy in the car the night they were caught.
Both Rupert and Aungst will appear in front of a judge Wednesday, November 1.
