Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center received special recognition Monday.

The hospital received four awards from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for its stroke and heart failure treatment. The awards recognize the hospital for quick and high quality treatment.

The hospital’s president said he’s proud that everyone’s hard work paid off.

“They were some of the very top awards you can get as it relates to heart and stroke programs. And for us it’s kind of a culmination of a lot of time, effort, physicians, nurses, a whole team it takes to come up with those outcomes that earn this type of recognition,” said Steve Tucker, the CEO of Conemaugh Health System.

The hospital first received recognition from the American Heart Association in 2013 and has earned higher-level awards since then.
