DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ)– The DuBois City Pool is undergoing renovations in time for summer.
“Work has started, we’re more than halfway completed,” city manager Herm Suplizio said. “You’ll probably see stuff erected here in the next couple weeks.”
Plans have been in the works since last year.
Contractors were awarded a bid to exceed no more than $1,060,400 on the project.
Along with resurfacing, the water slide will get redone.
More kid-friendly features will be added, like a rock climbing wall, dump bucket and kids park.
They’ll also add an accessible chair lift and new lifeguard chairs.
“We’re very excited about it here, and actually for the whole community, we think it’s a great venture for the entire area,” Suplizio said.
Part of the cost was funded by a $300,000 grant from State Sen. Joe Scarnati.
Work on the pool is expected to be completed by Memorial Day weekend.
