The City of Altoona is opening open emergency warming centers. Due to cold temperatures the city’s four fire stations will serve as a warm place for residents to go. 

Residents without heat are encouraged to go to the closet fire station in Altoona. 

The addresses for the City of Altoona Fire stations are as follows:

515 North 2nd St

530 Crawford Ave

3960 6th Ave

The fire stations are not intended to be a long-term housing solution, but a temporary measure while other shelter options are located.
