A new bill looking to strengthen punishment for those that carelessly endanger children is now law.
Governor Wolf signed House Bill 217 Thursday allowing the courts to take into account the age of a child, as well as the degree of harm done when deciding how to prosecute.
With younger children allowing for a higher penalty.
The bill also requires the court to consider counseling for those convicted.
