Elsewhere, the charges against a friar accused of failing to supervise a suspected child predator at a Johnstown Catholic school have been dismissed.
According to the Altoona Mirror, a judge dismissed the child endangerment and criminal conspiracy charges against Anthony “Giles” Schinelli, because they were filed after the statute of limitations.
Two other friars, Robert D’Aversa and Anthony Criscitelli, are still facing charges in that case.
They are accused of allowing sexual abuse by Brother Steven Baker to continue at Bishop McCort High School in the 1990’s.
