There’s another change in the works for a local therapy program for special needs children. Tyrone Hospital and ProCare Therapy formed “We CARE Therapy Services”  when Easter Seals closed its Altoona Clinic in 2015.

That partnership dissolved last year, and Tyrone Hospital contracted with “Kids First Therapy Center” to provide physical,  occupational and speech therapy at the facility. Now, “Kids First” is leaving at the end of the month.

On Tuesday,  the Blair County Commissioners approved the transfer of We CARE services and the building’s sublease  to the “We CARE Foundation.” The  foundation will select a new therapy provider for the clinic.

Families with children who use the We CARE facility have the option to follow their current therapist and receive services at Kids First’s Altoona facility or remain with We CAREand receive services from the new therapy provider.
