Calls for change and more allegations continue to pour in after the Pennsylvania Grand Jury report into the sexual abuse of children in the Catholic Diocese.
The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh received about 50 new allegations of abuse over the past week.
These allegations are according to Diocese spokesman Reverend Nicholas Vaskov. Vaskov stated to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, “All of the allegations are from prior to 1990 and go back as far as the 1940s.”
These allegations come in the wake of a Pennsylvania Grand Jury report documenting decades of alleged sexual abuse by priests and a system of cover-ups by church leaders.
In that report, more than 300 priests are accused of sexually abusing more than 1,000 children.
