Carnegie Mellon now accepting applications for PA Governor’s School

Carnegie Mellon University is now accepting applications for its Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the sciences program.

This five-week summer residential program is open to high school juniors who are interested in math and science. Scholarships will cover students’ meals, instruction materials, and housing.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Cambria County students who are interested in science, technology or math, and I strongly urge them to apply,” said Representative Frank Burns. “This free program could be the spark that ignites a student’s lifetime love of science and technology and sets them on the path toward a rewarding career.”

Applications must be emailed no later than January 31, 2019. For instructions on how to apply or further information about the program, visit this link.

The program runs from June 30 to August 3 at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. It accepts a limited number of high school juniors who attend a public, nonpublic and private school or are homeschooled, so interested students are encouraged to apply early.
