Centre County trial lawyer Bernie Cantorna defeated incumbent Stacy Parks Miller in the primary election.
Parks Miller had been the DA for the past seven years but had many critics, including Cantorna.
Cantorna lead the race with nearly 70% of the vote.
Parks Miller carried 30%.
At a watch party in State College, Cantorna mentioned restoring faith and trust in local government to supporters.
Cantorna’s name will be featured on the November general election ballet as the Democratic nominee.
It’s possible Parks Miller’s name could be featured as well, if she garnered enough write-in votes.
