State Police in Ebensburg said a man is dead after crashing his ATV.
It happened on Bem Road in Alleghaney Township around 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
We’re told Cody Maines lost control and rolled the vehicle in a yard alongside the road. Maines was then thrown from the ATV and was lying in the yard. The Cambria County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
Officials said he was not wearing a helmet and alcohol played a role in the crash.
According to the Ashville Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page, Maines was a volunteer firefighter. A post mentioned he had been a member of the department for the past 5 years and a proud member of the US Army.
