Officials from the Wolf Administration came to Bedford on Wednesday to talk about the governor’s Restore Pennsylvania proposal.

They held a roundtable discussion with local leaders on fighting blight and expanding access to rural broadband. Those projects would be included under wolf’s Restore Pennsylvania plan. The administration is pushing for a severance tax  on natural gas to fund the $4.5 billion proposal

“This is an issue we’ve been dealing with for many years and nobody has come to the table with a solution on how to address it, so Restore Pennsylvania, is in my opinion, the only way to raise the capital  to address these infrastructure issues,” said Sheri Collins, Acting Executive Director, the Governor’s Office of Broadband Initiatives.

Collins said the administration is looking to expand access to high speed internet in the state by the end of 2022.
