Work to replace a bridge along Route 2002 (Freedom Avenue) in Mifflin County is scheduled to begin January 2, 2019.
The construction is scheduled to take place overnight between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. for approximately two weeks. Flaggers will direct traffic while crews are working.
The existing bridge spans Kishacoquillas Creek just east of the intersection with Route 1005 (Logan Boulevard) in Burnham.
Work to construct a temporary roadway and bridge on the downstream side of the existing structure began December 3 and will continue throughout the winter. Crews anticipate moving traffic to the temporary roadway in April. A temporary signal will control traffic once the detour is in effect.
