The lights are on, the store is full of wedding gowns but a closed sign hangs on the window of Alfred Angelo Bridal.

According to numerous reports the company is filing for bankruptcy and is closing all of its doors nationwide.

WTAJ called the bridal shop located in Richland Township but there was no answer. We spoke to a bridesmaid who told us her dress is paid in full but she has been given no information on how to pick it up.

The is no information on the company’s website.

After hearing the sudden news the owner of Celestial Brides and Prom in downtown Johnstown, Sharon Honkus, posted a message to Facebook offering to help brides-to-be who are panicking.

I never in my life thought we would see the unfortunate situation of a bridal store abruptly closing and leaving brides stranded again, but apparently I was wrong. Alfred Angelo Bridal has filed bankruptcy. From my understanding they filed Chapter 7 and closed as of 8 pm Thursday. I’m very sad and sorry when this happens in any industry but it is particularly difficult in this industry as you leave brides in a panic.

If you or anyone you know is caught in this mess, please let them know I will try to help as much as possible. Not only are we in the middle of our National Bridal Sale but many of my designers keep hanging stock in their warehouses that can be delivered in a week or less. I cannot get you your original gown, nor can I get you your money back (If you paid by credit card all your customer service number immediately) but we will try our best to deliver you a gown without rush fees or extra charges. It will not be your original gown but it will be a beautiful gown. Bring in your AA receipt so we know you were an AA bride.

We know this is stressful, emotional, and unfair. We will try to help you through it and give you the same customer service and care that we provide all of our brides. Please call the store at 814-534-0107 and ask for Sharon and I will be happy to discuss options with you.
