President Donald Trump announced he will be visiting Pittsburgh tomorrow.
Details on the visit are limited at this time but the President condemned the shooting earlier this weekend.
Speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews before heading out to Indianapolis, Trump called the shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue “a terrible, terrible thing.” But he said that he didn’t think the shooting had anything to do with gun laws, instead suggesting the congregates at the synagogue should have had better protection.
“This has little to do with it if you take a look. If they had protection inside, the results would have been far better,” said President Trump. “This is a dispute that will always exist I suspect. But if they had some kind of a protection inside the temple, maybe it could have been a very much different situation.”
