A water main break in Tyrone has prompted a boil water notice.

The 10 inch water main that goes down Clay Avenue broke Wednesday night.

The main provides water for the Tyrone Hospital, but workers on scene were able to reroute the water and limit the effect on the hospital.

This morning officials tell us that the boil water advisory is still in effect, and that road repairs will have to wait until the Borough Council can consult with PennDOT.

The Tyrone Area School District announced on their website that due to the boil water advisory, they will not be serving breakfast or lunch at their summer program Friday.
