EBENSBURG, CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A boil water advisory has been issued for part of the area served by the Ebensburg Municipal Authority.
The area affected by the advisory includes Ebensburg Borough and Cambria Township south of Triumph Street and east of Center Street including Manor Drive and Wilmore Road.
A water line break on South Center Street has resulted in high levels of turbidity.
Turbidity has no health affects, but it can provide a medium for microbial growth. Turbidity may show the presence of disease-causing organisms, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites, which can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and associated headaches.
The water company does not know when the advisory will be lifted.
Affected customers are advised to not drink their water without boiling it first. Bring the water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using it, or use bottled water.
