A boil water advisory has been issued to 140 customers of the Southside portion of Alexandria.

This is due to a water line break that is causing the water service to be temporarily shut off.

This affects folks living in the areas around Grange Hall Road, Loop Road, Reservoir Circle, Dietz Road, Locust Lane or William Penn Highway.

After the service has been restored, residents are asked to boil their water for one minute and let it cool before consuming.

Water customers will be notified when the advisory has been lifted.
