An annual bluegrass festival is returning to the Jefferson County of Summerville Friday and Saturday.
The 35th Firemen’s Bluegrass Festival kicks off Friday at 7 p.m and lasts until 11 p.m.
On Saturday, the music resumes at 1 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m. There are 12 bands slated to play Saturday.
The festival takes a break in the afternoon for a pig roast dinner.
All proceeds from the weekend go to the Summerville Volunteer Firemen’s Association.
“We always get lots of bands and lots of good music and we want the people to come out and take a part in it,” organizer and founder George Schick said.
Schick said this is his last year organizing the festival, and it’s likely the last year the festival will be held.
