Region was pounded with snow Wednesday, shutting schools and businesses down.

One Blair County business is now thriving after getting more than a foot of snow.

“I have actually never experienced this much snow in the Spring, PA anywhere.”

Snowboarder Tyler Chilcot was ready to hit the slopes at Blue Knob after Wednesday’s heaping of snow.

“I was just in Vermont two weeks ago and this is just as good. They got up to 3 feet up there and this is phenomenal. This is crazy good.”

The ski and snowboard season has been up and down says Scott Bender with Blue Knob.

“We actually rebuilt the mountain four times since December through February this year. So this is actually the most terrain we’ve open this season.”

Bender’s thanking mother nature for this touch of winter.

“Anything that you get this time of the year, especially with almost a foot of natural snowfall and the upcoming weekend. It’s a bonus and a half.”

Chilcot hopes the snow hangs around, but not too long.

“A few more weeks and then I’d like to get the rod out to go fishing.”

Blue Knob says they expect this snow to stick around until at least Sunday, but they say to keep an eye on the ski report to see how long they’ll be open for the rest of the season.
