Today marked the start of Penn State’s Ag Progress Days, and one Blair County Farm was recognized

Several family farms were recognized this morning for their hard work, including Centennial Farms, owned by the Barnes Family.

The Blair County farm was bought back in 1889, and the barn was built in 1918. It’s still in use along with 278 of the original 311 acres.

To be eligible for the program, a farm must be owned by the same family for at least 100 consecutive years, have at least 10 acres, gross more than $1,000, and a family member must live on the farm on a permanent basis,
