This is round two between Robert Donaldson and Rich Consiglio. They ran against each other for the first time 12 years ago.
Both candidates took to the polls early this morning to vote and make a last minute push to voters. The Donaldson campaign is running on the idea of change. Donaldson believes he can bring changes to the way cases are processed which he says will lower costs and make Blair County safer. The Consiglio campaign has touted his 30 years of experience in the district attorney’s office with 12 of those years as the district attorney. He has said this would be his last term and he would use it to help train the next DA.
Donaldson said of his campaign, “We can only get our message out which was kind of the point. I’m pleased that we have gotten our message out, I’m sure there’s more that we can do, but we fought the good fight and we’re going to try to bring home the win tonight.”
Consiglio said, “Hopefully we’ll be able to help the citizens of the county for another 4 years and fight crime and protect victims the best we can and get justice for them.”
Polls close at 8pm.
