Blair County Commissioners defended their investigation into former Chief Deputy Sheriff Sam McClure.

McClure was fired back in March. Commissioner Bruce Erb said it was their responsibility to investigate the sexual harassment allegations. He says it’s clear, despite what McClure says, the kiss was not consensual and that there was a serious violation.

“Mr. McClure continues to fail to understand that the timing, on county time or not, of the complained events does not relieve him of his responsibility as supervisor, whether under County employee policies or even under the law,” he said.

Erb also stated McClure’s termination has nothing to do with politics, rather the  violations of employee conduct.
