Bikers for Barkers helps shelters

If you like to ride motorcycles and you like dogs and cats, we have the perfect event for you. The  18th Annual Bikers For Barkers motorcycle run hits the road on August 11th. All funds go to help the shelter pets at the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.

Kick-stands will go up at 11 am on August 11th at the Roundhouse Harley Davidson in Duncansville and the run ends at the Freedom Township Volunteer Fire Hall in East Freedom.

Pre-registration for Bikers for Barkers ride is $20 per person (includes ride, dinner entertainment and event T-shirt) until August 1, 2018; after August 1, registration will increase to $25 per person.

You can register at the CPHS, 1837 Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602; forms may also be downloaded from the Bikers for Barkers Facebook page. Riders may also register at Roundhouse Harley Davidson on the day of the event. For more information, contact CPHS at (814) 942-5402.

CPHS Board Member and Event Chairperson Tamsen Nuss, explains, “This is an important fundraising event for CPHS because we receive no funding from state or federal agencies. Caring for the animals housed at our shelter costs approximately $20 per day per animal so community support is vitally important to our mission. Bikers for Barkers combines an enjoyable day on the back roads of central PA with the opportunity to continue to support and care for homeless animals in our area.”
