Beaver Stadium adds security measures

Penn State is devoted to keeping their students and football fans safe.

Another change coming to Beaver Stadium includes new security measures.

More police officers will be visible on game day, and will be wearing tactical gear at each entry gate to the Stadium. Officers from the Centre County Tactical Response Team, also in protective gear, will also be making regular patrols in and around the stadium during game day.

A new security buffer zone will also be around Beaver Stadium. Any vehicle, excluding cars, that park within 300 feet of the stadium could be searched by University Police after they are parked.

Officials say that no knives or razor blades of any size will be allowed within Beaver Stadium. Folding blades and Swiss army knives will not be allowed either.

Light pole graphics will be a new addition to the perimeter of Beaver Stadium. These will add to the game day atmosphere and welcome fans.
