A bakery in the area is having a Pi Day fundraiser for the Tyrone Police Department’s K-9 program.
Bake Shop Bakes is hosting the event next Thursday, March 14th, known as National Pi Day, or 3.14
One dollar from every pie sold will go to the K-9 program at the department.
One of the shop’s owners said the dog will add a lot to the community, and it’s the least he can do for the men and women who do so much for them.
“Every dollar that goes to them is gonna help them, so they’ve done a tremedous job raising money so far. They’ve raised money faster than I’ve ever see any other organization raise money, so like I said, whatever we can do to help that’s gonna help everyone in the town,” Andy Hoover, owner of Bake Shop Bakes, said.
The store will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day.
