Auditor General Eugene Depasquale has announced that more than $350,000,000 of aid will be sent to municipalities across the state.
He says $60,000,000 of those funds will be used by volunteer fire departments to pay for equipment, training, and insurance.
The other $290,000,000 will go towards pension plans for police officers, paid firefighters and municipal workers.
Auditor General Depasquale says that money will make a big difference to smaller communities, because now they can pay for what they need without raising taxes.
