April’s Visionary of the Month is Ethan Stewart. He’s the founder of 814 Worx, a new, shared office space in the city.

“He has a lot of really good ideas. He’s involved, he’s engaged, a little impatient, which is great, because he will move a project forward,” said Walter Burlack, a consultant for Vision 2025.

Stewart wanted to create an incubator for entrepreneurs and startups. In just a year, he found and renovated an office, which will be open 24-hours a day and include all the necessary amenities, like desks, a conference room and wifi.

“This could be an example to other people to keep on trucking away. They never know what can get done, as well. It’s very humbling. It’s very exciting,” said Ethan Stewart, the founder of 814 Worx.

Ryan Kieta and Walter Burlack are consultants for Vision 2025. They started the Visionary of the Month program in January.

“We felt that there were people committed to this project. This is a grassroots project. So, we sat back and said, ‘Well, who are the people actually making this thing operate?'” said Ryan Kieta, a consultant for Vision 2025.

“Sometimes the biggest compliment is just saying thank you to somebody without any huge cash prize. Not that that doesn’t help, but it’s just our simple way of saying thanks,” said Burlack.

They chose Stewart because they said he embodies the work that Vision 2025 is trying to accomplish. They hope others will follow in his footsteps.

“Leading by example is really what this award is really all about. We’ve got some people that are making it happen, we want to tell you about them and we want you to bring your idea forward and we can help you,” said Burlack.

Stewart eventually wants the 814 Worx space to become a hub for entrepreneurs and business. First, he’s excited to see people get to work in the new space.

An opening event for 814 Worx is planned for Wednesday, April 26 from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. The event is open to the public and will feature music and food. 814 Worx is located at 647 Main Street in Johnstown.
