A festival in Johnstown will celebrate the large slavic heritage in the area.

The third annual Slavic Fest will take place at the Heritage Discovery Center on Broad Street in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.

There will be food, music, craft vendors and demonstrations.

Organizers said the festival attracts thousands of people each year.

“The vitality of some of these cultures and traditions, this didn’t end 100 years ago,” said Richard Burkert, the president of Johnstown Area Heritage Association.

The festival is free to attend. It runs from 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 23rd.
