People in Cambria County gathered for the annual yellow ribbon suicide prevention program Sunday afternoon.
The event is a prayer service and flower release that allows those who lost a loved one to suicide to come together to heal.
Organizers said the event is a way for people to find comfort and show it’s okay to ask for help if you need it.
“We know it’s difficult to lose a loved one to suicide,” Chuck Mahon, the event coordinator & Cambria County deputy coroner, said. “We encourage everyone to build support systems and continue going on with their lives as they used to.”
The event also helps the community recognize the signs of depression.
