Community members will join together for an annual peace walk in Johnstown on Friday.

The 4th annual Peace Walk will start and finish at Greater Johnstown High School’s Trojan Stadium. People will walk through the Moxham and Hornerstown neighborhoods and honor victims of violence.

Organizers say the event is all about getting to know your neighbors and working together to bring peace to the community.

“It’s in your hands. It’s up to you. Each one of us are our own peace ambassadors. We can do something to bring about that peace not only in your home, not only on your street, but in this town.” said Rev. Sylvia King, a Johnstown City Councilwoman.

The walk starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4th at Trojan Stadium. After the walk is over, everyone will meet back at the stadium to make a human peace sign on the field, listen to students speak and play games with kids.

The walk is free to attend and open to the public.
