The Windber Area Community Kitchen (WACK) is hosting its 9th Annual Red Rose Ball.

The event took place on Saturday, February 10th and raises about $6,000 each year for the kitchen, which serves more than 4,000 hot meals each year to people in need.

The ball features music, dancing and food and is a way to thank volunteers, businesses and individuals who donate.

“The people who come here and volunteer, to the businesses who donate to us – we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for those donations,” said Joan Albright, Chairperson for the WACK board. “They give us meaningful things, meaningful gifts, meaningful food. They do what they can to support us because they know the level of need here is great.”
