The Altoona Area School Board accepted the resignation of Holly Metzler after police allege she sent inappropriate photos to a student.

The former special education instructor at the high school had been on paid leave while police investigated the allegations against her.

Charges were filed against the 45-year-old at the end of January.

Metzler’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for this Friday.
