Tim Boyles has taken countless photographs of a list celebrities in his life. Including the likes of Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, and Leonardo DiCaprio. He’s freelanced as a photographer for Getty Images in Florida and has been personally hired for events, such as the wedding of Macho Man Randy Savage.
Boyles said, “It was really rewarding to be on the front line and talk to these people and meet them and take their photographs.”
Boyles was born and raised in Altoona. He learned his craft as a reporter in the Navy and in college. Back in Altoona, he’s appreciative of the local support. He has an exhibit in the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in downtown Altoona that will remain open until October 14th.
He explained, “Support of the museum and the city and the people who have come to the show and have bought some of this stuff…..it’s incredibly satisfying to live a life where you are doing something that you just love to do.”
While the exhibit is full of celebrities, the one photo is most dear to him is of someone most wouldn’t recognize. It’s the one of him and his father at Nik Wallenda’s tight rope walk across the Grand Canyon, months before his father would pass away.
Boyles detailed, “Among all the celebrities, this is my celebrity and this is the photo that means more than anything to me. Because this is my legacy, my family, my heirloom, and my dad.”
Proud of his roots, Boyles wants everyone in Altoona to know that they should never doubt themselves.
He said, “Never count yourself out. Never say, ‘well I live in Altoona, what can i do with my life?’ Dream big! Think big! And chase your dreams because they literally do come true!”
