An Allegheny Township police officer is in critical condition after suffering a cardiac arrest while responding to a call Sunday morning.
Officials told us crews were dispatched to the Eldorado Mobile Home Park to investigate a report of a male causing a verbal disturbance.
Officers said when they arrived on scene the suspect took off on foot, but was eventually caught.
We’re told as the man was being taken into custody, a 44-year-old male Allegheny Township police officer suffered a cardiac arrest.
Other responders on scene were able to administer CPR, successfully reviving him.
The officer was then taken to the UPMC Altoona Hospital for treatment. He is currently listed in critical condition.
