A family-owned jeweler is moving to a popular State College location

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) — Another family-owned Jeweler with deep roots in the State College area is moving to the corner of College Avenue and Allen Street.

According to StateCollege.com Miska Jewelers will open on May 1 at 100 E. College Avenue, the former location of Moyer Jewelers, which closed its doors in December 2018 after 70 years in business.

The Miska’s plan to hire six to eight employees over the coming months.

The store will have in-house jewelry design, manufacturing, and repair facilities, allowing for “quick, quality service at fair prices.”

For Stephen Miska, a second-generation jeweler, the new store will be a return to where it all began. He started his full-time career as a manager at Moyer Jewelers in 1982.

“The retail jewelry industry has been a very big part of my life. I’ve worked in this business since I was 14 — first with my father and then in my own business.”
