FERGUSON TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Four schools in Centre County were placed on lockdown after a teen made suicidal threats and left his home with a knife.
Ferguson Township Police responded to a domestic incident at a home on Blair Road this morning at 10:30 a.m.
According to police, the 18-year-old had a knife and was making suicidal threats. He reportedly cut himself, but his girlfriend was not injured.
His girlfriend called the police when he left the house. As a precaution, police alerted The Goddard School and the Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania Charter School, both located near the house, and asked them to be put on lockdown.
The dispatch center also contacted Corl Street Elementary and Our Lady of Victory Catholic School. These schools were also placed on lockdown as a precaution.
There was no direct threat to the schools.
The individual was found and taken to Mt. Nittany Medical Center for evaluation.
The investigation is ongoing.
