Dozens of people showed their support for the military during the 2nd Annual Hero Hike on Saturday morning.
More than 70 hikers walked the 7.3 mile-stretch of the Ghost Town Trail from Nanty-Glo to Ebensburg Saturday morning to show support for members of the military and to foster relationships between veterans and civilians.
“Just a small – get out and do something- just to show appreciation. One of those small way we can say, ‘Thank you,” said John Geiser, one of the hikers.
In 2017, the hike raised about $2,000 for Veteran Community Initiatives. This year, they raised more than $2,200.
