McCalmont Township fire officials say that it was just after 9:30 this morning when they were called to a home for an explosion on Buck Run Road. Officials say when they arrived at an amish residence there was a man and a woman burned in the fire.

Investigators tell us a 16-year old girl was in the basement of the home refilling a gas powered engine, which helped run the washing machine. They say it was overfilled and a muffler cause it to spark a fire. We’re told 40 year old Eli Wengerd was in the house at the time and rushed downstairs with a fire extinguisher to help control the fire. Both Wengerd and the 16 year old were flown to U.P.M.C in Pittsburgh. People at the scene of the home saying the young girl was badly burned.

No word tonight on the condition of those victims. WTAJ is told the Punxsutawney fire Marshall has ruled the cause as accidental. There was only minor damage in the home, resulting in an estimated $1,000 in damages.
