Upper Yoder Police department arrested a 12 year old cyber school after a confession to sending a threatening message via Twitter. Upper Yoder Chief Donald Hess states the threatening message was directed at the Westmont Hilltop School District. The cyber student was not a student at Westmont Hilltop School District. There is no current threat to the safety of the Westmont Hilltop School District or any of the students.
As a precautionary measure during this investigation, school was cancelled December 11th and 15th.
Upper Yoder Police Department conducted the investigation with the cooperation of the school district, Cambria County District Attorney’s Office along with the Cambria County Detectives.
