A 9-year-old Phlipsburg boy is being recognized for a very generous act of kindness.
You may remember Peyton Minarchick. He’s the boy who offered up his birthday money to provide refreshments for emergency responders who were fighting a near-by fire.
Thursday night, Peyton was surprised with a pizza party at the Philipsburg Super Bowl.
Family, friends and firefighters stopped by to surprise and thank Peyton for his generosity during the Memorial Day fire in West Decatur.
“I think it’s really nice for them to do this for me,” Peyton said.
Debbie Casher, the restaurant manager at the Philipsburg Super Bowl said she was glad to host the event.
“I notified the owners, who are my bosses, and asked them if we could do something good in return to show him that when you do good for people, good things happen to you also,” Casher said.
More than 30 firefighters attended Peyton’s party.
