Libertarian party selects presidential nominee

Libertarians selected former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson as their party’s presidential nominee at their party convention in Orlando, Florida.

Gary Johnson was the party’s nominee in 2012 and received almost one percent of the general election vote in 2012.

He won the position again, despite backlash from the party’s more radical libertarian wing.

Johnson clinched the nomination on the second round of voting, with 55.8 percent of the vote.

The Libertarian Party is the only third party with ballot access in all 50 states.
