The last surviving search dog from the September 11th attacks has died.

Her fellow officers and firefighters offering a salute, as she made a final visit to the veterinarian who cared for her, her entire life.

The golden retriever, named Bretagne, but pronounced Brittany, was the last surviving search and rescue dog who served at Ground Zero on 9-11.

She searched for survivors too, after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Bretagne was in kidney failure and was put to sleep.

The canine officer left the veterinary office draped in the Texas flag, with one last offer of service — she’d been studied her entire life – for the impact of 9-11 pollutants.

An autopsy, one last medical screening, will be her last selfless gift to give.
