Some big stakes in the Granite State.
Voting is underway n the New Hampshire presidential primary. Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Bernie Sanders were heavily favored in the polls, but this is the only poll that matters.
Large crowds were seen in many precincts and pollsters predict a record turnout when it is all said and done.
Donald Trump continues to hold a comfortable lead in the polls, but GOP candidates John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz are all hoping to finish second.
One election volunteer said she saw more voters in the first few hours Tuesday than she did the last November election.
There were also a lot of first time voters.
“It is really exciting, not only as a volunteer but an immigrant myself. To see first time voters, not only immigrants, but all regular Americans that don’t usually get engaged. One of my frustrations and my pet peeves is that people take it for granted”, said Eva Castillo.
“I just want to make sure that when a president goes into office it’s someone who can actually do some good and is actually working for the American people rather than working for themselves”, said Thomas Stone.
In New Hampshire, independents can also place a vote.
