Clearfield County Fair officials have announced what music acts will headline this year’s fair.

We havemore on the big names and other acts coming this summer.

Probably the biggest name will take the stage on Saturday night, and that’s Lady Antebellum.

This morning, fair officials held a press conference to talk about the full schedule.

Tuesday will be a Kids’ Day with free admission from 9 to 11 a.m. and a $6 wristband available. They say this is the first time in several years for a Kids’ Day. They can stay all day.

There’s an Elvis impersonator who’s originally from Clearfield County on Tuesday night.

The other concerts are Marshall Tucker Band on Wednesday, a truck and tractor pull on Thursday, Jake Owen with Chris Lane on Friday, and Lady Antebellum on Saturday.

Fair board members say they have about $500,000 to cover all the main stage music acts, and the manager says it’s a difficult balancing act.

He says about 112,000 people attended last year’s fair.

“We get a list of people that are out there and then we have to work with their routing and do they want to stop in Clearfield, or do they want to do indoor venues, and we made the offer on Lady Antebellum and it came right back, no problem,” says fair manager Greg Hallstrom.

“They are one of the hottest groups out there on the country circuit and we found a group, the Hobbs Sisters, at the State Fair Convention in Hershey to open for them,” says fair board secretary/public relations officer Brenda Morgan.

They could not announce the other guest who’s on the Wednesday concert because they say the music agents were not ready for it to be released.  They’re hoping to have that before tickets go on sale on Monday.

The 156th Clearfield County Fair is set for July 31 to August 6.
