State Police are warning locals about a phone scam, committed by those claiming to be with the IRS and demanding payment.
These scam calls are usually done in an angry, demanding tone.
The IRS will never cold call, but instead, send you an official letter in the mail.
If you get a call like this, report it to the Treasury Inspector General at 1-800-366-4484.
If you have been a victim of this scam, report it to your local police.
