The IRS stopped accepting electronically filed tax returns Wednesday because of some problems with some computer systems.
The outage could impact refunds but the agency said it does not anticipate “major disruptions.”
A hardware failure is being blamed and impacted several tax processing systems.
The IRS said in a statement that they are currently in the process of making repairs and working to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
