The father of the student who recently died at a fraternity house, told CBS News that investigators were looking into what he called, “this fraternity pledge/hazing event,” involving his son.
According to Beta Theta Pi fraternity members, 19-year old Penn State Sophomore Tim Piazza fell down stairs at the Beta Theta Pi House, Thursday and 12 hours later, an ambulance was called.
Piazza was pronounced dead at the hospital, Saturday morning.
His death is being ruled an accident and the chapter has been temporarily suspended, while the investigation continues.
Piazza had recently accepted an invitation to join the fraternity.
